Greetings,
This letter is to inform you of the PPTA’s decision to instruct its members not to teach certain year levels of the College as part of their on-going industrial action. This is referred to as a rostering home plan.
We have been informed that the PPTA have told its members that they must not teach students in Year 11 and 12 on Monday 12th June.
De La Salle College have looked at ways of keeping our rostered home students at school on this day but we are unable to provide enough teachers for all our Year 11 and 12 classes on Monday.
This means that our Year 11 and 12 students will not have normal classes this Monday 12 June. However next week is our planned Exam and Assessment week and any Year 11 or 12 student who has an Exam or Assessment scheduled for Monday must come to school to complete his Assessment. Your son will know his Assessment Timetable for the week. We will have Staff available to supervise Assessments.
Year 11 and 12 students coming to school to sit their Assessments are expected to meet the College expectations for punctuality and uniform.
After school sports practices will still go ahead on Monday for all teams.
I apologise to you all once again for this further disruption to our teaching and learning programme which is beyond the College’s control, I appreciate how disruptive this can be for families and our young men’s learning. We are aiming to keep our programmes as normal as we can for our young men.
God bless
M.Hogarty
Principal
