Dear Parents
The Government has provided all schools in New Zealand with Teacher Only Days over the next two years so that Staff can learn about the changes to the NZ Curriculum and in our case changes to Year 11-13 NCEA.
Dates were recommended to schools to hold their Teacher Only Days this year, with one of those days being this Thursday 13 May for Secondary Schools.
We have decided to hold our Teacher Only Day on Friday 28 May as we have planned to align our day with our local Community of Learning Catholic Primary Schools and will be working with them Friday 28 May.
This Thursday 13 May will be a Normal School Day for our young men and we expect them at school.
I would like to draw your attention to some other Key Dates below:
- Year 7 Parent Partnership Meeting Wednesday May 12 – College Library 7.00pm
- Year 8 Parent Partnership Meeting Wednesday May 19 – College Library 7.00pm
- Our De La Salle Founders Day is on Friday May 21. On that day the students will be dismissed at 1.00pm. The school buses will run earlier so that our young men will not need to wait.
- Year 9 Camp from Tuesday 25 May to Friday 28 May. Students return from Camp at 3.00pm
- Teacher Only Day – Curriculum and NCEA Changes – Friday May 28
- Samoan Language Week May 31 – June 4
- Mid Year Senior Assessment Week June 14 to June 18
- The last day of this term, Friday July 9, will be a Teacher Only Day with no classes, as it is the Staff Spirituality Day
