School Production

Being a part of the production was an amazing experience even though we had some difficulties. I think it was cool because I got to meet boys from different year levels and then become good friends with them.

I think if you ever get the chance to be a part of a production, go for it. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and have fun. A good quote to keep in your mind is, ‘if you see an opportunity – go for it!’

2014 has been a really amazing and exciting year for me, especially being able to be a part of this year’s Drama Production of Agony in the Garden written by Denis Tutaka and directed by Mr Waugh.

I auditioned for the part of Judas and found out that I had been given the lead role of Jesus. I was really pushed out of my comfort zone playing the lead role in my first school production but it was also new and exciting.

I faced many challenges: such as learning my lines, turning up to all rehearsals and being able to perform in front of the whole school. The fun part was that I got to perform with my friends and had a lot of support from my family and teachers.

Being in the production has been a challenging but really fun experience. I’ve learned a lot about myself and I have gained in confidence. It has made me think about what subjects I’d like to take next year when I become a senior. Thank you to all the teachers that helped; Mr Denis Tutaka, Mrs Laumemea, Mr Doubleday and especially my Drama teacher Mr Waugh who has taught me a lot about acting and many skills that I’ll use during my years left at De La Salle.
