Monday night was the first round of the De La Salle Junior Opens debate tournament. This year we have entered four brand new teams into this division.
MOTION: THW ban school uniforms.
DLS 1 lost to Sayeed College
DLS 2 won against Ormiston Junior College
DLS 3 won against Tangaroa College
DLS 4 won against Kings College
Considering every single one of these teams are brand new to debating, this was an impressive result! All four teams show real potential in debating. Well done to all our teams for their efforts tonight.
Great efforts to the following students Year 9 Sione Mafuahingano, Inglis Tavu’i-Lemalie, Zylis Taluilu, Juan Kori, Cadell Armstrong and Year 10 Jacob Tominiko and well done to Chris Kiutau, Kennedy Tapumanaia, Kingston Finau, Tony Ulberg, Bonaventure Lipa-Patau and Mark Sikuvea in Year 9 for their victories.
Special mention to Bonaventure, Sione, Juan and Kingston for receiving the best speaker for their respective debates tonight!
