Friday 23rd September, Sounds of La Salle aka “SOLS” competed against 10 other acts for the national title of Smokefree Tangata Beats 2022. They placed 3rd at the Auckland Regional final and were up against the top bands from across Aoteroa. These included bands from Rotorua, Gisborne, Palmerston North as well as experienced bands from Wesley College and Manurewa High.
Performing their original songs, SOLS stole the show through outstanding musicianship and presentation demonstrating true ‘Lasallian charm’. Their amazing performance would not have been possible without the leadership, patience and perseverance of their tutor and mentor, Mr. Leonard Folau and his team of industry musicians helping and supporting the boys along the way. A special mention to ex-Lasallian SOLS members Joseph Safiti and Lorenzo Lafolua for being there to cheer the boys on. A huge thank you to the families of all the SOLS boys who came in numbers on the night – faafetai lava and malo ‘aupito.
